Sunlight Spot Children’s Ukrainian Toy and Entertainment Festival Held in Lutsk

May 31, 2009, the Sunlight Spot Children’s Ukrainian Toy and Entertainment Festival was held at the Lutsk Lesia Ukrayinka Central Park. The festival was the final stage of the Nasha Sprava [Our Cause] Volyn Center for Public Youth Organizations, one of the laureates of the Program to Support Snall Cultural and Arts Projects. Its goal was involving children into making Ukrainian folk toys, thus furthering the revival and development of Ukrainian cultural traditions.

Within its framework, a number of master classes for toy making were held (motanka dolls, straw, skein, and wooden toys), folk children’s games with the Harmyder [Mess] youth drama studio, and a Ukrainian children’s book fair. Around 500 little Lutsk residents took part in the fest.

Nasha Sprava [Our Cause] Volyn Center for Public Youth Organizations focuses on developing civil society, involving young people into educational, social, and cultural projects. The Center has been operating for over 13 years, actively working in the fields of public education, European integration, social adaptation, and the arts.
