The First Humanitarian Forum "Rebirth, Renewal, and Human Development"

April 25, 2006, Kyiv hosted the Rebirth, Renewal, and Human Development Humanitarian Forum aimed at establishing permanent dialog on future human development.

The Forum’s goal was initiating dialog on human development and stable development, increasing people’s responsibility and preparedness to prevent various disasters.

Keynote speakers of the Human Catastrophes as a Global Problem and Collective Responsibility plenary session were Chair of the Board of Directors of the Ukraine 3000 International Charitable Fund Kateryna Yushchenko, wife of the President of Poland  Maria Kaczynska, Director General of UNESCO Koichiro Matsuura, President of the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies Mr. Juan Manuel Suarez de Torro Rivero, renowned author Paolo Coelho, Vice-President of the European Bank of Reconstruction and Development Saccomani Fabrizio, Vice-President of the Parliament of Estonia Ene Ergma, Tang Wensheng, Vice Chairman of the China Soong Ching Ling Foundation, Ambassador of the United States of America to Ukraine John E. Herbst, Ambassador of Great Britain to Ukraine Robert Brinkley, UNISEF Representative in Ukraine Jeremy Hartley, Secretary-General Emeritus of the World Health Organization Dr. Hiroshi Nakajima, et. al.

The Forum adopted the Manifesto of Responsibility as its concluding document.
