Ukraine 3000 Foundation and Business-award Foundation Agree To Cooperate

July 8, 2008, representatives of the Ukraine 3000 International Charitable Foundation, headed by Head of the Supervisory Board Kateryna Yushchenko, met with the founders and leaders of the Business-award Foundation Dr. Paul-Oliver Kaukal and Heinrich Steinhagen. Among the participants of the meeting were Director of Ukraine 3000 Foundation’s Medical Programs Dept. Vira Pavliuk and wife of Ukraine’s Permanent Representative at the international organizations in Vienna Iryna Yelchenko.

The parties discussed the mechanism for cooperation between Ukraine 3000 Foundation and Business-award Foundation in implementing charitable projects in Ukraine. Mrs. Kateryna Yushchenko described projects and programs in culture, medicine, and education, carried out by Ukraine 3000. The Foundation’s representatives spoke in more detail about the initiatives designed for people with limited capacities: the Joy of the Childhood: Free Movements program, purchasing hearing aids, supporting Special Olympics, and Yuri Bilak’s Touch and See tactile photo exhibition.

In their turn, Business-award representatives described their organization’s activities and shared some of their plans for the future.

The Business-award Foundation agreed to cooperate with Ukraine 3000 Foundation. The parties are to sign a Memorandum on Mutual Understanding in the near future. In part, Business-award undertakes to participate in creating an educational center for blind children in Ukraine.

The Business-award Foundation is a non-profit public organization registered in Austria and Ukraine, focusing on supporting the development of entrepreneurship awareness, planning, and activities in Ukraine. Its priority is the development of small and medium businesses. The organization’s goal is transforming ideas into strategies and elaborated cooperation proposals by the Western model, as well as motivating potential foreign partners.

Kateryna Yushchenko is accompanying her husband, President Viktor Yushchenko, on a two-day official visit to Austria. Earlier Mrs. Yushchenko and Mrs. Fischer have visited Vienna’s places of interest and Vienna Federal Institute for the Education of the Blind.
