Mrs. Kateryna Yushchenko Meets with Minister of Culture of the Lithuanian Republic Juozas Chirvinskas

May 12, 2008, Head of the Supervisory Board of the Ukraine 3000 International Charitable Foundation Kateryna Yushchenko met in Vilnius with Minister of Culture of the Lithuanian Republic Juozas Chirvinskas. Among other participants of their talk at the Lithuanian Ministry of Culture were wife of the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Lithuanian Republic in Ukraine Toma Kumjene, members of the Ministry of Cinema and Film Industry of Lithuania, and Ukraine 3000 Foundation members.

A number of issues were discussed related to the film industry development in Lithuania and Ukraine. Minister Chrivinskas spoke about state support to the cinema and the present situation in the Lithuanian film industry. Mrs. Kateryna, in her turn, described the activities of the Ukrainian Film Foundation, created by the Ukraine 3000 International Charitable Foundation’s initiative, and its current and future projects aimed at creating favorable conditions for Ukrainian and joint films production.

The participants of the meeting watched a video presentation of the Lithuanian film industry development.

Mrs. Yushchenko is accompanying her husband, President Viktor Yushchenko of Ukraine, on his official visit to the Lithuanian Republic. Earlier she has met with wife of the President of the Lithuanian Republic Mrs. Alma Adamkene.
