Addressing the journalist, Mrs. Yushchenko said, “I am honored to start Ukraine’s biggest charitable project precisely in Lviv. This project is creating and constructing a Children’s Hospital of the Future in Kyiv. This hospital will treat children from throughout the whole Ukraine, currently incurable for Ukrainian medical service. To create this hospital, we need to consolidate the effort of the whole Ukrainian community. This project will reach nooks and corners of Ukraine, every Ukrainian homestead. Our goal is give every Ukrainian a chance to be involved in creating a better future for our children. Together with you we would like to revive best traditions of Ukrainian philanthropy, as deeply rooted as is the Ukrainian spirit. Let’s revive the striving to do good in our hearts and in our deeds.” Representatives of the Ukraine 3000 International Charitable Fund also took part in the press conference, telling the journalists in more detail on the plans to create and construct a Children’s Hospital in Kyiv. Kateryna Yushchenko also visited the newly opened Newborns Pathology Unit at the Lviv Children’s Hospital. The Lviv Communal City Children’s Clinical Hospital, being a member of the Ukraine 3000 International Charitable Fund’s Hospital to Hospital Program, had previously received from the Fund an infant incubator. Constructing a Children’s Hospital in Kyiv is one of the Ukraine 3000 Fund’s biggest projects. It is aimed at creating a children’s hospital of modern European level, which would allow to improve medical care for children from all Ukraine’s regions and to develop highly specialized branches of pediatrics. It will be a multi-field medical institution aggregating best professional and intellectual resources of the medical industry, introducing highly effective treatment and diagnosis. It is planned to be erected in the territory of the Feofaniya Clinical Hospital. March 16, a ceremony of laying a capsule in the foundation of the future clinics took place. The same day, the Ukraine 3000 Fund signed first agreements on financing the project: a Protocol of Intent and Preliminary Agreement with the Transbank Joint Stock Company, which has already transferred its first tranche for the hospital construction totaling UAH 1,000,000 ($ 200,000), and also an agreement with the Genesis Eurasia Corporation (the US), which has undertaken obligations to finance the institution’s work. To support the project, the Ukraine 3000 Fund has launched a promotion tour starting in Lviv and scheduled to embrace all Ukraine’s oblast centers. Its goal is present the project to the Ukrainian public and get all those interested involved in its implementation. |
