Ukraine plus 20 other countries launch We Won’t Let Put out the Candle of Memory campaign

June 19, 2010, Ukraine and 20 other countries will launch the We Won’t Let Put out the Candle of Memory campaign dedicated to Holodomor manmade famine of 1932-1933.

The mission is to honor the memory of the millions of Holodomor victims and prevent suppressing the truth about the reasons, consequences, and names of the genocide organizers.

June 19, a prayer service for the innocent victims will take place in Kyiv, after which the Candles of Memory will leave to Ukraine’s cities and abroad. In every country, supoorting the campaign: Great Britain, Australia, the USA, Spain, Canada, Argentina, Brazil, Greece, Russia, etc., members of various religions and denomination, politicians, representatives of the authorities and Ukrainian diaspora will take part in the service. The prayer candle will also be brought to European Parliament and UN quarters.

The action organizers – the World Congress of Ukrainians and Ukrainian National Remembrance Institute. The campaign was supported by Ukraine 3000 International Charitable Foundation, All-Ukrainian Vasyl Stus Memorial Alliance, Kyiv branch, Stepan Bandera Center for National Revival, National Unity All-Ukrainian Foundation, National Alliance, Youth Nationalists Congress, Lustration PO, Ukrainian Youth Alliance in Ukraine, Regional Initiatives Foundation, Center for the Liberation Movement Research, Space of Freedom Volunteer Movement, and Maydan Alliance.
