April 15 Polish Cinema Festival Begins in Ukraine
On Tuesday, April 13, 2010, at 12:00 a.m., the Cinemateque Hall of the Kyiv Movie Theater (19 Chervonoarmiyska St.), will host a press conference on the Polish Cibnema Festival in Ukraine.
Among the participants of the event will be Andrey Khalpakhchi, Director of the Ukrainian Cinema Foundation, and Oleksandra Mykolyshyn, Executive Director of the Ukrainian Cinema Foundation.
We invite mass media representatives to cover this event. The registration for press will take place on the spot.
At the press conference the journalists will be given invitations to the festival opening ceremony April 15 at 7:00 p.m. at the Kyiv Movie Theater.
The festival, featuring best Polish films released in 2009, was organized by the Ukrainian Cinema Foundation together with the Polish Filmmaking Institute, Pomeranian Cinema Foundation, and with the support of the Ukraine 3000 Foundation. This year the films will be presented by film director Janusz Morgenstern, scriptwriter Krzysztof Lukaszewicz, producer Wlodzimierz Niederhaus, and other Polish cinema people.
April 15, after the opening ceremony, the Ukrainian audience will be presented The Lesser Evil film. After the show, the audience will be able to speak to its creators, the director Morgenstern and the producer Niederhaus. The festival’s program includes General Nil by Ryszard Bugajski, EnEn by Feliks Falk, Mall Girls by Katarzyna Roslaniec, How Much Does the Trojan Horse Weigh? by Juliusz Machulski, and Never Say Never by Wojciech Pacyna.
The films will be shown in three Ukrainian cities: Kyiv (15 through 21 April), Vinnytsia (17 through 23 April), and Donetsk (22 through 28 April).
The Ukrainian Cinema Foundation is a non-governmental organization, whose major mission is familiarizing foreign filmmaking experts and audiences with Ukrainian classics and latest films, as well as promoting the Ukrainian cinema worldwide.
