Rift through Life International Exhibition Presented in Kharkiv

October 7, 2009, Kharkiv History Museum hosted the presentation of the Rift through Life documents exhibition, based on witness accounts by Ukrainian female forced workers in Rhineland.

Among the participants of the event were Deputy Head of the Kharkiv Oblast State Administration on Humanitarian Issues Yaroslav Yushchenko, Head of the Tourism and Culture Administration of the Kharkiv OSA Nina Suprunenko, Head of the Free Democrats Faction of the Provincial Rhineland Alliance Berndt Passman, Head of the Culture and Environment Department of PRA Milena Karabaic, representative of the PRA Green Party and Essen Mayor Rolf Fliss, Advisor on Culture with the PRA Faction of the Social-Democratic Party and Wuppertal Mayor Ursula Shultz, Advisor on Culture of  the PRA Faction of the Cristian Democrats Party Leo Peters, PRA Western Europe projects manager Iryna Yastreb, Head of the Rift through Life project for PRA Bettina Buresz, and Head of the Cultural Programs Dept. with Ukraine 3000 International Charitable Foundation Vladyslav Pioro.

This action completes the Rift through Life exhibition’s Ukrainian tour. In 2009, the exhibition was demonstrated in Donetsk, Zaporizhzhia, Dnipropetrovsk, Odesa, Mykolayiv, Kherson, Lviv, Ternopil, and Ivano-Frankivsk. Simultaneously with Kharkiv, the exhibition was opened in Poltava and Sumy.

The Rift through Life exhibition was first presented in November 2007 at the Provincial Rhineland Alliance’s Federal House and in October 2008 at the Ukrainian House in Kyiv.

The exhibition was the first joint project by the Ukraine 3000 International Charitable Foundation and Provincial Rhineland Alliance, based on the Memorandum on Cooperation between the two organizations signed November 10, 2008.
