Tetiana Lahunova’s Magic Ukraine Published by V-Studio Group Receives Unique Ukraine Award

September 10, 2009, Head of the Board of Directors of Ukraine 3000 Foundation Oleksandr Maksymchuk took part in the opening ceremony of the Fifteenth Publishers’ Forum in Lviv. The ceremony was hosted by Lviv Krushelnytska National Academic Opera and Ballet Theater.

In course of the event, the Book of the Publishers’ Forum 2009 book competition was summed up and the award ceremony held.

Mr. Maksymchuk presented the Unique Ukraine special prize, by tradition awarded by Ukraine 3000 Foundation for the best book on history and culture. This year’s winner is Magic Ukraine by Tetiana Lahunova, published by the Kharkiv-based V-Studio creative group. The unique and interesting book, created in the form of a photo album, narrates about Ukraine’s nature and history, presenting interesting museums and unique places of interest.

The Ukraine 3000 Foundation is planning to purchase a part of the pressrun (to the total of UAH 20,000) to distribute free of charge among Ukraine’s educational and children’s facilities.

The Unique Ukraine award was established by Ukraine 3000 Foundation within the framework of the Publishers’ Forum in Lviv in 2007.

The first winner was Personalities: Essays on Historical, Political, and Cultural Figures by Yaroslav Dashkevych (Piramida Publishers, Lviv).

In 2008, the award was given to the Big Illustrated Encyclopedia of Ukraine (Makhaon Ukrayina Publishers, Kyiv).
