The Ukraine 3000 Fund Announces Second Journalists Contest for Best Coverage of the Manmade Famine of 1932-1933 in Ukraine

In connection with the 75th anniversary of the Holodomor Manmade Famine of 1932-1933 in Ukraine, the Ukraine 3000 International Charitable Fund, as part of its History Lessons: Holodomor of 1932-1933 program, announces annual Journalists Contest for Best Coverage of Holodomor.

The contest will continue throughout year 2007. Staff journalists and freelancers with printed media, television, and radio channels are invited to participate.

The condition for participation in the contest is publishing in printed media or aired on TV or on the radio from November 28, 2006, till November 24, 2007, of TWO or more materials  authored or co-authored by the participant.

Contest nominations:

  • Publication on the Holodomor of 1932-1933 in periodical media;
  • film (featured or documentary) on the said theme;
  • radio show dedicated to Holodomor of 1932-1933;
  • specialized web site or its section.

The winners will receive money prizes.

Most active participants will be awarded mementos and encouraging prizes.

The results will be summarized and announced on December 24.

Media outlets most actively covering the Holodomor in the said period will also be celebrated.ä.
