Kateryna Yushchenko Presents Awards for the Development of the National Cinematograph
October 29, the Kyiv Molodist International Cinema Festival award ceremony was held at the Ukrayina National Palace of the Arts.
At the closing ceremony, Head of the Supervisory Board of the Ukraine 3000 International Charitable Fund Kateryna Yushchenko decorated founder and head of the Filmotekhnik Company Anatoly Kokush with the award For the Development of the National Cinematograph.
Mr. Kokush has authored unique constructive techniques which had been used for production of famous films at the renowned cinema centers throughout the world for over ten years. In part, the Filmotekhnik’s know-hows had made it possible to film such blockbusters as Mr. and Mrs. Smith, Batman, The Titanic, War of the Worlds, The Da Vinci Code, Kingdom of Heaven, Night Watch, Day Watch, etc. For their attainments, Anatoly Kokush and his colleagues received two Oscars from the American Academy of Motion Picture in February 2006.
The award For the Development of the National Cinematograph was founded by the Ukraine 3000 Fund in 2003. It is awarded on annual basis to the renowned participants of the cinema process in Ukraine, who have made a considerable contribution into the global promotion of the Ukrainian cinema. In 2003 it was first awarded to film director Roman Balayan, in 2004 to his colleague Kira Muratova, and in 2005 to actress Larysa Kadochnykova.
