Two OKHMATDYT Doctors Undergo Training in US, Sponsored by Children’s Hospital of the Future Foundation
February 11, 2010, two doctors left for a n on-job training to the United States of America, sponsored by the Children’s Hospital of the Future Charitable Foundation.
Staff members of the blood cancer diagnostic laboratory, lab head Olena Kreminska and doctor - laboratory assistant Tamara Smolenska, will undergo 2-weeks professional training at the Cedars Sinai Medical Center, California.
The cooperation of the Children’s Hospital of the Future Charitable Foundation and Ukraine 3000 International Charitable Foundation with OKHMATDYT hospital is longstanding and fruitful.
Previously, another two hospital staff members, - Head of the Children’s Oncohematology and Marrow Transplantation Center Svitlana Donska and lab technician with the medical genetics laboratory at the Kyiv Medical Genetics Center Valentyna Kurakova, - had undergone training at the Cedars Sinai Medical Center.
Children’s Oncohematology and Marrow Transplantation Center at the OKHMATDYT Hospital is also a member of the Ukraine 3000 Foundation’s Hospital to Hospital program. The program has been implemented since 2005 and has 26 member hospitals in all Ukraine’s oblasts. In the years of its operation, the Ukraine 3000 Foundation together with its partners has donated charitable aid to children’s hospitals to the total of around UAH 24,000,000.
Within the framework of this program, OKHMATDYT has received aid to the total of over UAH 900,000 in the form of medical equipment (infusomats, biologically safe laminar room, first aid kits, encephalographic system for babies, ECG machine, monitor, etc.), medicines, toys, and books.
OKHMATDYT is also member of the Dreams Come True program, launched by Ukraine 3000 Foundation in late 2008. Since then, over 50 little OKHMATDYT patients had their dreams come true. The total amount of the aid is UAH 80,000.
