29 Ukraine’s Children’s Hospitals Received Reanimation Equipment from Ukraine 3000 International Charitable Foundation and MacDonalds Ukraine

Reanimation equipment for newborns to the total of UAH 1,607,000 has been delivered to Ukraine’s hospitals. The funds were raised at the World Children’s Day at MacDonald’s in Ukraine on November 1-30, 2008.

Medical equipment went to 29 children’s hospitals in Vinnytsia, Dnipropetrovsk, Donetsk, Zhytomyr, Zaporizhzhia, Ivano-Frankivsk, Kyiv, Kirovohrad, Kremenchuk, Kryvy Rih, Luhansk, Lutsk, Lviv, Mykolayiv, Mykacheve, Odesa, Poltava, Rivne, Simferopol, Sevastopol, Sumy, Ternopil, Kharkiv, Kherson, Khmelnytsky, Cherkasy, Chernivtsi, and Yalta.

At purchasing the equipment, individual needs of every recipient hospital were taken into consideration. This approach allowed optimizing the usage of charitable funds raised at the World Children’s Day at MacDonald’s.

Recall that the World Children’s Day at MacDonald’s action has been held by MacDonald’s Corporation since 2002 in over 100 countries. Its goal is raising funds for charitable projects, related to children’s health protection and improving their living conditions throughout the world. In the five years the company has raised over $124,000,000, channeled for helping children in many countries.

Since 2005 the World Children’s Day at MacDonald’s is being held in partnership with the Ukraine 3000 International Charitable Foundation. The Foundation’s great expertise in implementing charitable projects helps to select patient care institutions, which require support the most, and make this support as efficient as possible. Due to the money collected in the 2005 action, family rooms have been refurbished at the Children’s Oncology Dept. of the Oncology Institute at the Academy of Medical Sciences of Ukraine. In 2006, the Healthy Heart of a Child action was held, resulting in the purchase of cardio equipment for 18 children’s hospitals in Ukraine. In 2007, it was decided to purchase emergency aid equipment and children’s electric pumps for 30 hospitals in all Ukraine’s oblasts.

The total amount of charitable aid, rendered within the framework of the Ukraine 3000 Foundation - MacDonald’s Ukraine cooperation, is UAH 3,400,000.
