Three Tank Mines Discovered by MES Pyrotechnists at Children’s Hospital of the Future Construction Site

July 7, 2009, experts of the Mine Cleaning Center at the Ministry for Emergency Situations discovered three anti-tank German mines from the times of WWII at the land plot allotted by Kyiv City Council for the construction of the Children’s Hospital of the Future in Feofaniya, Kyiv, reports MES’s press service. Earlier MES’s pyrotechnical team started inspecting the 10 hectares territory.

Field engineers took the explosives to a special ground, where they had been destroyed.

The inspection of the Children’s Hospital of the Future’s land plot for explosives is carried out to meet technical conditions issued by the Chief Administration for Emergency Situations and an order by the Kyiv City State Administration, On Inspecting Construction Sites for Explosives Left from World War II. The procedure is a part of the land plot engineering preparation for the construction.
