Ukraine 3000 Foundation Members Visit Chernivtsi City Clinical Hospital

June 18, 2009, members of the Ukraine 3000 International Charitable Foundation, headed by Head of the Supervisory Board of the Ukraine 3000 International Charitable Foundation Kateryna Yushchenko, visited Chernivtsi City Children’s Clinical Hospital.

Head Physician Serhiy Storozhuk told the guests that in the latest years the hospital had been essentially reconstructed and extended. In 2006 Chernivtsi City Council devoted over UAH 56,000 for restoring and finishing the hospital’s treatment unit. The works were finished in October 2008.

Also, a new wing construction is almost finished. The construction costs were around 30 million hryvnias, most of which had been donated by philanthropists.

The hospital’s bed capacity is around 350, with 150 beds in surgical units.

Among other participants of the event were Head of Chernivtsi Oblast State Administration Volodymyr Kulish, Chernivtsi City Mayor Mykola Fedoruk, First Deputy Head of Oblast State Administration Viktor Pavliuk, Head of the Board of Directors of Ukraine 3000 Foundation Oleksandr Maksymchuk, and Director of the Ukraine 3000 Foundation Medical Programs Department Vira Pavliuk.

Mrs. Yushchenko and Ukraine 3000 Foundation members are on a one-day working trip to Chernivtsi oblast. Earlier they visited Chernivtsi Oblast Medical and Social Rehabilitation Center for Children with Organic Lesions of Nervous System and Father Mykhaylo Zhar’s children’s home.
