Memorandum Signed on Cooperation between Sumy Oblast Children’s Hospital and University Hospital of Geneva
December 3-4, 2007, Expert with the Medical Programs Dept. of the Ukraine 3000 International Charitable Fund Taras Tkachuk and Head Physician of the Sumy Oblast Children’s Hospital Arkadiy Lushpa went on a working trip to Geneva.
The Ukrainian guests visited the University Hospital of Geneva. They familiarized themselves with the Hospital’s Pediatric Clinics, Surgery, Neonatology, Intensive Care, and Anesthesiology. They were also present at a surgery performed by Prof. Andre Kaelin, renowned expert in children’s orthopedics.
Messrs. Lushpa and Tkachuk also met with the clinic’s medical director, Prof. Pierre Dayer, and deputy director general Francois Taillard. Mr. Tkachuk presented the Ukraine 3000 Fund’s medical programs and projects, describing in more detail the progress on the Children’s Hospital of the Future project. In his turn, Prof. Dayer described his hospital’s activities.
After that, a Memorandum on Cooperation was signed between Sumy Oblast Children’s Hospital and University Hospital of Geneva by Deputy Director General Francois Taillard and Medical Director Pierre Dayer, on behalf of the Swiss party, and Director of the Medical Programs Dept. of the Ukraine 3000 International Charitable Fund Vira Pavliuk and Head Physician of the Sumy Oblast Children’s Hospital Arkadiy Lushpa, on behalf of the Ukrainian party.
The partnership between Ukrainian and leading foreign patient care institutions is one of the Hospital to Hospital program’s key priorities. At present, memorandums on cooperation have been signed between Krannkenhaus Barmherzigen Bruder Eisenstadt, Austria, and Lviv City Children’s Clinical Hospital, as well as between the Odesa Oblast Children’s Hospital and Sneider Medical Center, Israel.
