Head of the Children’s Hospital of the Future Fund Vira Pavliuk Takes Part in an Interdepartmental Meeting on the Concept of the Healthy Child 2008-2012 State Program
November 27, 2007, by Head of the Children’s Hospital of the Future Fund Vira Pavliuk took part in an interdepartmental meeting on the concept of the Healthy Child 2008-2012 State Program. The event was hosted by President Hotel.
The event featured a series of workshops seeking the best way to solve issues connected with creating conditions allowing children and teenagers to fulfill themselves in terms of health and development, as well as reducing the sickness and mortality rates.
In course of the groups’ work, a number of measures were outlined aimed at creating positive trends in improving children’s health, in part:
- Improving the regulatory framework;
- Improving public awareness on creating a safe environment for children, forming and preserving their health;
- Securing healthy nourishment for the children;
- Perfecting the specialized medical aid system for children;
- Rendering first medical aid to children in the context of family medicine development;
- Regionalizing prenatal help to increase the probability of survival among newborns;
- Launching public awareness campaigns to prevent contagious diseases and trauma in and violence against children;
- Improving professional training to increase the quality of medical services to children;
- Conducting scientific research on the priority issues of children’s health care.
Implementing the concept of the Healthy Child 2008-2012 State Program will result in changes in the infant mortality rate. This is the basic integrated index used internationally to define the level of social and economic development and effectiveness of health care system in a given country.
