World Children’s Day Held at McDonalds in Partnership with Ukraine 3000 Fund
November 18, 2007, the World Children’s Day at McDonald’s was held in Kyiv jointly with the Ukraine 3000 International Charitable Fund.
The fundraising within the framework of the World Children’s Day at McDonald’s action is being held from November 5 to 25 in 16 Ukraine’s cities. During this period, every visitor of a McDonald’s restaurant can buy paper hands, charms, and bracelets. All proceeds will be channeled for purchasing modern medical equipment for emergency medical aid at children’s hospitals throughout Ukraine. 28 hospitals were selected together with the Ukraine 3000 Fund which, in the experts’ opinion, need aid the most.
The Kyiv action was supported by renowned persons in politics, business, sports, mass media, show business, etc. Among them are Fagot and Fozzy (TNMK rock group), Liliya Podkopayeva, Oleksandr Volkov, Anzhelika Rudnitska, Ihor Pelekh, William Taylor, Kateryna Serebrianska, et. al.
Important guests of the action were winners of the Eurovision junior national selections, Nazar Sliusarchuk and Ilona Halytska. The kids came to support their peers in need for medical aid and took part in selling paper hands and bracelets with McDonalds staff. The participation of the Eurovision finalists in this action fits into the position proclaimed by the national selection participants. Recall that in September 2007 the participants of the Junior Eurovision 2007 national selection commissioned Ilona Halytska with calling upon the global community to launch a series of charitable actions to the benefit of deprived children.
