Ukraine 3000 Fund Representatives Visit Tsiurupinsk Orphanage and Boarding School
August 15, 2007, Head of the Supervisory Board of the Ukraine 3000 International Charitable Fund Kateryna Yushchenko visited the Tsiurupinsk Orphanage and Boarding School. Among other participants of the event were Advisor to the Head of the Supervisory Board of the Ukraine 3000 Fund Andriy Myroshnichenko, Director of the Hospital to Hospital Program Vira Pavliuk, Head of the Kherson Oblast State Andministration Boris Silenkov, and Head of the Healthcare Department at the Kherson OSA Mykhaylo Brahar.
The guests were given a tour of the school, talked to the students and faculty members.
On behalf of the Ukraine 3000 International Charitable Fund, Kateryna Yushchenko handed over to the Tsiurupinsk Orphanage and Boarding School a UAH 15,000certificate for purchasing developmental toys, books, and detergents.
The Tsiurupinsk Orphanage and Boarding School for disabled children hosts over 200 children from all Ukraine’s oblast. Over half of them are orphans. The disabled children are bedridden or doomed to use wheelchairs and crutches from their early years. The students of the boarding school are people with active attitude toward life. They take part in school and group events, creative shows, amateur art activities etc. and are assiduous learners. The staff does everything possible to help children adapt themselves socially and prepare them for the life outside the boarding school.
Mrs. Yushchenko and Ukraine 3000 Fund representatives are staying in Kherson oblast for a one-day working trip. Earlier they have visited the Kherson Oblast Children’s Hospital.
