Seventeen Hospitals in Ivano-Frankivsk Oblast Receive Electrocardiographers from Ukraine 3000 Fund



July 19, 2007, representatives of the Ukraine 3000 International Charitable Fund with Head of the Fund’s Supervisory Board Kateryna Yushchenko came to Kolomyia, Ivano-Frankivsk Oblast, for a one-day working trip, visiting the district central hospital. Among other participants of the event were First Deputy Head of the Ivano-Frankivsk Oblast State Administration Andriy Romanchuk, Head of the Health Care Administration Hryhory Boychuk, and other representatives of the local authorities.

At the Kolomyia District Central Hospital the guests visited the children’s hospital. Accompanied by DCH Chief Physician Iryna Hobeletska and Chief Physician of the Children’s Hospital Antonina Suyunova, they took a tour of the hospital premises, visited the surgery and somatic units, talked to the little patients and their parents.

At the hospital’s conference hall, Mrs. Kateryna Yushchenko on behalf of the Ukraine 3000 International Charitable Fund gave chief physicians of the district central hospitals and Ivano-Frankivsk Oblast Children’s Hospital Heart Screen 60 G electrocardiographers made in Hungary. The cost of one apparatus is approximately UAH 10,000. Thus, Ivano-Frankivsk oblast hospitals have received aid from the Ukraine 3000 Fund totaling around UAH 170,000. Besides, Mrs. Yushchenko gave the Kolomyia District Central Hospital an icon of Our Lady.

The Ukraine 3000 Fund gave electrocardiographers to:

  • Kolomyia Central District Hospital
  • Kosiv Central District Hospital
  • Lysets Central District Hospital
  • Nadvirna Central District Hospital
  • Rohatyn Central District Hospital
  • Rozhniativ Central District Hospital
  • Sniatyn Central District Hospital
  • Tlumak Central District Hospital
  • Yaremcha Central City Hospital

Mrs. Kateryna Yushchenko and Ukraine 3000 Fund representatives met with chief physicians of Ivano-Frankivsk oblast children’s hospitals.

The Ukraine 3000 International Charitable Fund renders aid to Ivano-Fankivsk oblast medical institutions within the framework of its medical programs. The Ivano-Frankivsk Oblast Children’s Hospital is member of the Hospital to Hospital program. In 2006 the hospital has received charitable aid in the form of medical equipment, medicine, and children’s books totaling over UAH 320,000. A considerable part of this sum was raised due to the cooperation between the Ukraine 3000 Fund and Procter&Gamble Company, allotting money for purchasing equipment for the Newborns ICU and Premature Children’s Unit at the Ivano-Frankivsk Oblast Children’s Hospital.

In 2006-2007, the Ukraine 3000 Fund has been rendering charitable aid to the Kosiv Central District Hospital. During this cooperation, the hospital received and ECG machine, newborns’ scales, 20 glukometers, and 50 Man books totaling UAH 37,000.

In total, the Ivano-Fankivsk oblast medical institutions received charitable aid from the Ukraine 3000 Fund totaling UAH 337,000.

Within the framework of the Joy of the Childhood: Free Movements, 58 children with cerebral palsy have undergone a rehabilitation course at the International Rehabilitation Clinics in Truskavets. The total cost of the treatment was UAH 263,610. At present, data on 527 children with cerebral palsy are in the Program’s database.
