Ukraine 3000 Fund and Oecumenica NGO (Greece) Agree to Cooperate within the Hospital to Hospital Program
June 4, 2007, a meeting was held between representatives of the Ukraine 3000 International Charitable Fund and Greece-based Oecumenica non-profit organization. Among the participants of the meeting were Head of the Ukraine 3000 Fund Board of Directors Oleksandr Maksymchuk, Head of the Fund’s Medical Area Vira Pavliuk, Deputy Head of the Hospital to Hospital Program Inna Holovanchuk, Coordinator with the Hospital to Hospital Program Taras Tkachuk, Oecumenica Director Varsamis Georgios, and Field Manager Papadakis Manos.
The participants of the meeting exchanged information on their activities and discussed the prospects for Oecumenica’s participation in the Hospital to Hospital program.
The parties agreed that their cooperation on the Hospital to Hospital program will take the form of providing the Zhytomyr Oblast Children’s Hospital with necessary equipment for the newborns’ ICU, as well as purchasing a children’s reanimobile for the hospital. They decided to pay a visit to the Zhytomyr Oblast Children’s Hospital to study the situation and discuss the future aid with the hospital management.
It is planned that the costs for purchasing the equipment will be allotted in spring 2008. The approximate total value of the planned aid to the Zhytomyr Oblast Children’s Hospital is UAH 2,500,000.
The Oecumenica Organization was founded in March 2006 by the Ecumenical Patriarchate of Greece. Its major goal is rendering support to the countries in need through various programs implemented in these countries. The programs carried out by this organization are 70% financed by the Foreign Ministry of Greece, the other part covered by the Ecumenical Patriarchate of Greece.
