Ukraine 3000 International Charitable Fund and MTI Company Unveil Fourth Computer Class

May 15, 2007, the Ukraine 3000 International Charitable Fund and MTI Company unveiled the fourth computer class within the framework of their joint charitable program to computerize boarding schools in Ukraine, teaching children with cerebral palsy. The computer class was unveiled at the Kostopil Special General Education Boarding School for Children with Cerebral Palsy.

The participants of the unveiling ceremony were Executive Director of the IT Distribution Department of the MTI Company Borys Biliansky, Coordinator of the Fundraising Department of the Ukraine 3000 International Charitable Fund Oleksiy Kamyanchuk, First Deputy Head of the Kostopil Region State Administration Ihor Hruby, and other representatives of local state and public organizations.

Owing to the funds and equipment donated by MTI, the Kostopil Special General Education Boarding School now boasts a computer class for six work stations. The class is equipped not only with modern PCs, but also with peripherals, innovative software, multimedia educative programs teaching how to work on the computer and use the Internet, and comfortable school furniture. MTI specialists also undertook an obligation to provide service for the equipment during the next 12 months.

Addressing the audience, Executive Director of the IT Distribution Department of the MTI Company Borys Biliansky said, in part, “Giving a computer class to the children means for us primarily an investment into their future life and health and support in their adaptation in life. We know that today computer skills are as mandatory as knowing your ABCs. From now on, your children will get a chance to master modern technologies, fulfill their talents and abilities, and broaden their horizons.”

The Kostopil school students presented to Messrs. Biliansky and Kamyanchuk their handmade embroideries and gave a small concert.

The Kostopil Special General Education Boarding School for Children with Cerebral Palsy hosts 116 children with disabilities, six of them being orphaned.

The computer class unveiling at the Kostopil Boarding School was the fourth stage of the long-term joint charitable program by the Ukraine 3000 International Charitable Fund and MTI Company to computerize specialized boarding schools in Ukraine. The program envisages equipping with computers five boarding school in various Ukraine’s regions, teaching children with cerebral palsy.

September 12, 2006, a similar computer class was unveiled at the Kyiv Special Boarding School No. 15 for Children with Poliomyelitis Consequences and Cerebral Palsy, October 10, 2006, - at the Special General Education Boarding School of Stages I-III for Children with Poliomyelitis Consequences and Cerebral Palsy at the village of Potiyivka (Zhytomyr Oblast), and November 14, 2006, - at the Boryslav Special Boarding School for Children with Poliomyelitis Consequences and Cerebral Palsy. May 29, 2007, the last, fifth class will be unveiled in Ternopil.
