Contract Signed between Children’s Hospital of the Future Charitable Fund and State Administration
March 22, 2007, a working group for creation and construction of the Children’s Hospital of the Future met at the Ukraine 3000 International Charitable Fund.
Head of the Supervisory Board of the Ukraine 3000 International Charitable Fund Kateryna Yushchenko, Head of the State Administration Ihor Tarasiuk, Deputy Head of the Mothers’ and Children’s Health Protection Department at the Ministry of Health of Ukraine Valentyna Pedan, Head of the Board of Directors of the Children’s Hospital of the Future Charitable Fund Vira Pavliuk, Head of the Board of Directors of the Ukraine 3000 International Charitable Fund Oleksandr Maksymchuk, State Administration officials, and experts on town planning and design were present at the meeting.
In course of the meeting, an agreement was signed between the Children’s Hospital of the Future Charitable Fund and State Administration on cooperation on the construction and equipping of the Children’s Hospital of the Future. The agreement was signed by Head of the Board of Directors of the Children’s Hospital of the Future Charitable Fund Vira Pavliuk and Head of the State Administration Ihor Tarasiuk.
Mrs. Yushchenko, addressing those present, said, “Signing this agreement, we clearly delimit the responsibilities of the Children’s Hospital of the Future Charitable Fund and State Administration. According to this document, the State Administration carries out the construction process, while the Children’s Hospital of the Future Charitable Fund is responsible for the design for the hospital, approves the medical task, equips the hospital, and trains professionals who will work there.” Mrs. Yushchenko also thanked all those contributing to the Children’s Hospital of the Future project.
In course of the meeting the Medical Task for the design of the All-Ukrainian Mothers’ and Children’s Health Protection Center (Children’s Hospital of the Future) was presented to the Children’s Hospital of the Future Fund. Working out and approving the Medical Task will create a basis for the hospital’s Medical program, as well as for starting preconstruction works and further designing of the hospital.
This event has started a new and important stage in the creation of the Children’s Hospital of the Future. The Agreement sets an example of creating a mechanism for cooperation and delimiting functions between state bodies and the Children’s Hospital of the Future Charitable in the process of creating the hospital. Signing the agreement and approving the medical task will give a chance to proceed with preconstruction works and also carry out the designing and start construction of the Children’s Hospital of the Future.
In accordance with the Medical Task, the Children’s Hospital of the Future will have:
- hospital with bed capacity 250;
- consultative and diagnosing department (professional consultations and fast access to a broad range of laboratory and diagnostic tests, including pediatric subspecialties), consultative department, laboratory unit, and functional diagnosing unit);
- radiology unit (radiodiagnostic unit, radiotherapy);
- admission ward;
- pension for 50 persons for temporary stay of mothers with children coming from faraway regions and/or mothers whose children are receiving chemotherapy etc.), as well as medical professionals invited for carrying out surgeries;
- service unit with an autonomous generator, workshops, warehouses, laundry, centralized autoclave, oxygen station, pharmacy and facilities for storage and distribution of proprietary medicines, and kitchen (nutrition unit);
- park zone with playgrounds;
- parking zone for visitors and staff;
- entrance zone for ambulances and reanimobiles.
