Representatives of the Ukraine 3000 Fund Take Part in the Doctors’ Network Third International Conference



February 7, 2007, Coordinator of the Ukraine 3000 Fund’s Hospital to Hospital Program Inna Holovanchuk took part in the Doctors’ Network Project Third International Conference. The event was held via Internet from 1 p.m. till 4 p.m., Kyiv time.

The participants of the session were staff members of medical facilities based in Ukraine (Kharkiv, Zhytomyr, Kyiv, Lutsk, Vyshhorod, Dolyna, and Pidhaytsi), the US, and Czech Republic. The topic was children’s and adult cardiology.

The Doctors’ Network Project Conference was open for all medical institutions. To take part, they were to register at http://www.impus.org.

The speakers had been presenting their topics for three hours. Every report was accompanied with a colorful and interesting slideshow. The participants of the session also had a chance to exchange their opinions on every report.

At the start of the Doctors’ Network Project Third International Conference, a representative of the Permanent Mission of Ukraine to the United States greeted its participants. He said that the conference was just another step toward implementing the clauses of the framework agreement between Ukraine’s Ministry of Health and its US counterpart in 2006. He also celebrated the Ukraine 3000 Fund’s role in medical cooperation between the US and Ukraine.

The Doctors’ Network project was launched by The World Federation of Ukrainian Medical Associations (WFUMA). Its major goal is promote democratization of the healthcare system. The Doctors’ Network project aims to improve access to healthcare institution in rural Ukraine (emergency medical assistance, diagnosing, treatment, follow-up examinations, and preventive healthcare), as well as enhancing standards of patients care. The project extends regional, oblast, national, and international ties for promoting education, consultation, and experience exchange at the conferences.

The Ukraine 3000 International Charitable Fund thanks all the organizers and participants of the Doctors’ Network Project Third International Conference, an important event in developing telemedicine in Ukraine.
