The Project to Create and Construct Children’s Hospital of the Future Presented to Vinnytsia Doctors
November 9, 2006, the Ukraine 3000 International Charitable Fund presented the project to create and construct the Children's Hospital of the Future at the Vinnytsia Oblast Children’s Clinical Hospital. Director of the Hospital to Hospital Program Vira Pavliuk, Coordinator of the Hospital to Hospital Program Inna Holovanchuk, and Head of the Today Area Olena Skorikova took part in the presentational press conference.
Over twenty renowned Vinnytsia Oblast doctors were present at the meeting. Ms. Pavliuk presented to them the project to create the Children's Hospital of the Future.
The project was followed by a lively discussion, in course of which Vinnytsia doctors suggested numerous proposals and amendments. In part, Chief Doctor of the Vinnytsia Oblast Children’s Clinical Hospital Tetiana Antonets opined that the Children’s Hospital of the Future should be primarily a diagnosing center. In her view, children shouldn’t stay at the hospital from first day of the disease to the last, but only during the main treatment stage.
Chief Children’s Hematologist of Vinnytsia Oblast Valentyna Furman emphasized the importance of providing the regions with medication, since they would have to specially prepare patients for transportation to the Children’s Hospital of the Future. In her view, the hospital should employ psychologists, since social rehabilitation is very important for children recovering from heavy diseases.
Chief Doctor of the Vinnytsia Oblast Children’s Infective Clinical Hospital Vitaliy Vilchynsky said that clear indications for admission to the Children’s Hospital of the Future should be worked out. Doctor Olha Yablon suggested elaborating also indications for hospitalization of pregnant women with pathologies and premature infants born in the 22 to 32 week of pregnancy.
Doctor with the Vinnytsia Oblast Children’s Clinical Hospital Natalia Senchuk said that a family can be happy only if the children are healthy, and asked to include in the project creating an effective genetic laboratory.
Besides, the Vinnytsia doctors were interested in the ways for recruiting staff for the future hospital. They also supported the idea to create a postgraduate education center for doctors at the Children’s Hospital of the Future.
