The Children's Hospital of the Future Project Presented to Ivano-Frankivsk Doctors
October 17, 2006, the Ivano-Frankivsk Oblast Children’s Hospital hosted a Ukraine 3000 International Charitable Fund’s meeting with Ivano-Frankivsk doctors. Head of the Board of Directors of the Ukraine 3000 Fund Oleksandr Maksymchuk, Head of the Today Area Oleksandra Mushkudiani, medical expert Oleksandr Etnis, and People’s Deputy of Ukraine Liliya Hryhorovych took part in the said event.
The major goal of this meeting was provide information to local healthcare workers on the project to create and construct the Children's Hospital of the Future. Mr. Maksymchuk performed a general presentation, placing high emphasis on the new structure of the hospital management system. The medical side of and range of problems embraced by the project were presented by Mr. Etnis, who said that the hospital units shouldn’t duplicate the existing medical centers. Ms. Hryhorovych spoke about the hospital as “the hospital of Ukrainian hope.” She shared her ideas about the project and stressed that the society should support the Ukraine 3000 Fund’s initiative.
In course of the discussion of the Children's Hospital of the Future concept, quite a few appropriate proposals were made by medical workers. In part, Chief Pediatrician of the Healthcare Department at the Ivano-Frankivsk Oblast State Administration Oksana Maniukh said that it's essential that the doctors at the future clinics were able to use engineering achievements and provide seasonable consultative aid. It is equally important that the scientific center at the Children's Hospital of the Future informed other children’s hospitals in Ukraine on innovative medical achievements. Ms. Maniukh also emphasized the importance of creating a diagnosis base for examination and revealing genetic pathologies in children.
The meeting was part of the promotional tour of Ukraine’s oblast centers to present and raise funds for the project on creating and constructing The Children's Hospital of the Future. The project was launched on September 29, 2006, in Lviv and earlier was presented in Sumy and Ternopil.
The construction of the All-Ukrainian Health Protection Center for Mothers and Children (the Children’s Hospital of the Future) is envisaged by the Cabinet Decision No. 722 of May 25, 2006, and Clause 17 of the Universal of National Unity.
