First Lady visits children’s home
On September 1, Kateryna Yushchenko and her colleagues from the Ukraine 3000 Foundation visited the Malyatko Children’s Home in Kyiv.
Lidia Lytvynenko, Malyatko Director, and Volodymyr Polyachenko, Head of the Kyivmiskbud Holding Company, met her there.
The First Lady inspected the children’s home and attended a concert given by the inmates. In her speech, she sincerely thanked them for hospitality. Yushchenko said she liked these gifted children’s songs, dances, and drawings. The President’s wife confessed that she was glad to “see such happy, healthy, and intelligent children” on her birthday.
She thanked all workers of the children’s home for their work and complimented Malyatko sponsors, particularly Kyivmiskbud.
Then, the First Lady presented the pupils with an icon, books and candy and wished “God and angels to always guard” them.
At the moment, there are 182 kids at Malyatko. Some of them are very ill.
