The origins of the organization set forth above are unclear while its activities contradict the principles and ideas of the Ukraine 3000 Foundation. This year’s choice was extremely demanding as expert opinion split, said Oleksandr Maksymchuk, Head of the Board of the Ukraine 3000 Foundation. Finally the choice fell upon two editions at once, one on culture, the other on history.

The Ukraine 3000 Foundation plans to support the publication of one volume of the “3000: Ukrainian Poetry” series each year, Kateryna Yushchenko said. Special expert council will be established to chose the works to be supported.

After a lively and substantive discussion Kateryna Yushchenko presented a two-volume textbook “Corporate Social Responsibility” to the Lviv Business School. The book was created on her own initiative by the leading scholars of the University of Banking of the National Bank of Ukraine.

After asking the audience on their motives for doing the MBA Mrs. Yushchenko told them of her studies in Chicago. “Because I wanted to work in Ukraine and help the country when it becomes a sovereign state I realized that I need to study economics, finances, management, strategic planning, marketing, operational management and accounting”, - she said.

Winners of the Fourth Doing Good Starts with You All-Ukrainian Charitable Project Competitions are 12 children’s and youth groups from 10 Ukraine’s oblasts. Another 10 charitable projects were named as laureates. The winners also received money prizes: UAH 5,000 for first places, 3,000 for second, 2,000 for third, and 1,000 for the laureates.

The little philanthropists together with Kateryna Yushchenko colored their makeshift flowers and wrote their lists of good deeds on them. The flowers were installed at a green meadow. The participants of the action also spoke about what would be good for Ukraine, what they can do for this, and what all Ukrainians can do.

Summing up, the participants of the working meeting stated that the state bodies had to clarify their position regarding further implementation of the All-Ukrainian Center to Protect Mothers’ and Children’s Health project. In part, public and charitable organizations stepped forward with the initiative to bring the issue to the agenda of the meeting of the Public Council at the Ministry of Health care, scheduled for May 26.
