In the end of the discussion the Ukraine 3000 International Charitable Foundation and the Banking University at the National Bank of Ukraine signed a Memorandum on Cooperation. The document envisages intensifying their cooperation in promoting the social responsibility idea as well as organizing a series of events to put these principles into practice.

Mrs. Yushchenko said that the Ukraine 3000 Foundation announced the start of the Third Candle in the Window contest of posters on Holodomor and Third All-Ukrainian Contest for journalists for the best coverage of Holodomor in mass media. The competitions will last till November 2008, with results to be announced by the 75th anniversary of Holodomor.

Addressing the audience, Mrs. Yushchenko presented the Ukraine 3000 Foundation’s work in the area of education. In part, she described the Innovative Intellect of Ukraine All-Ukrainian Competition, Doing Good Starts with You program, and Human Revival, Rebirth, and Development International Humanitarian Forum. Mrs. Kateryna added that during the Educational Summit scheduled by Ukraine 3000 Foundation for September 2008 at the Artek ICC, the Youth Assembly will be held, involving most active participants and winners of the Innovative Intellect of Ukraine Competition.

The action raised the record-breaking UAH 900,000, considerably exceeding the organizers’ initial expectations. It was decided to channel this money for purchasing emergency medical aid equipment and children’s electric pumps for 30 hospitals in all Ukraine’s oblasts.

On behalf of the Ukraine 3000 International Charitable Foundation Mrs. Yushchenko handed over to the headmaster a UAH 50,000 certificate to purchase a car for the orphanage.
