
Children’s and Youth photo Show Unveiled at Ukrainian House, Supported by Ukraine 3000 Foundation

May 30, 2010, on the occasion of the Day of Kyiv and International Children’s Day, a joint photo exhibition of two children’s and youth projects was unveiled at the Ukrainian House. The action was organized by Ukraine 3000 International Charitable Foundation, Friends of the Children Association charitable foundation, and Ukrainian House National Business and Cultural Cooperation Center state enterprise.
The first part of the display presents photographs by children from boarding houses in Kyiv and Kyiv oblast. January 15, Ukraine 3000 Foundation, with the support of Peter Lik’s Live Pictures project organizers, carried out a charitable action for orphaned children, in course of which around 100 children were given photo cameras. Simultaneously, a photo contest was announced, the best of which are now presented at the Ukrainian House. Among the participants of the competition were students of Vasylkiv Vocational School for Orphaned Children, Bucha Boarding School for Orphans and Children Deprived of Parents’ Care, Special Boarding School No. 11 for children with weak sight, Social Care Center for Children at the Father’s House Charitable Foundation, and Kyiv-Sviatoshyn Family District Orphanage.
The second part of the display is a photo-account on the Ukrainian leg of the international youth media contest (video, photos, and slogans), conducted as part of the My European City campaign in 15 European countries.
Head of the Supervisory Board of the Ukraine 3000 International Charitable Foundation Kateryna Yushchenko sent a letter of greetings to the participants and guests of the action. It was red out by Vladyslav Pioro, Director of Ukraine 3000 Foundation’s Culture Dept.
Peter Lik’s projects coordinator in Ukraine Vitaly Hrechyn announced the results of the competition. He named the best works among the children and youth categories and presented laptops to the winners.
Oksana Hrytsenko, Director General of Ukrainian House, delivered certificates for books for boarding schools’ libraries as part of the Books for Children project.
The children and young people also received candy and books from BUKREK Publishing House.
The exhibition will be on display May 30 – June 1, 2010.
