
Kateryna Yushchenko Europe’s Biggest Center for the Disabled

May 3, 2010, Head of the Supervisory Board of the Ukraine 3000 International Charitable Foundation Kateryna Yushchenko together with her husband, third President of Ukraine Viktor Yushchenko, visited the Center for the Disabled near Nottville, Switzerland.
The Center is Europe’s biggest specialized clinic using modern rehabilitation methods for people with disabilities.
Mr. and Mrs. Yushchenko familiarized themselves with the work of the Center, talked to its management, staff, and patients. They visited the Anti-Pain Clinic, prosthetic and wheelchair workshop. The Center workers presented to the visitors some rehabilitation methods and demonstrated equipment they involve. Mr. and Mrs. Yushchenko also familiarized themselves with the work of the fund created to support people with spine lesions.
Mrs. Yushchenko described the Ukraine 3000 Foundation’s medical programs and projects, speaking in more detail about the Children’s Hospital of the Future Project and Joy of the Childhood – Free Movements program.
In course of negotiations with the Center for the Disabled management an agreement was made on cooperation between this clinic and Ukraine 3000 Foundation on medical programs.
Viktor and Kateryna Yushchenko talked to Swiss journalists, who put a number of questions on the situation with medicine in Ukraine and the progress on the Children’s Hospital of the Future project.
