February 25, 2010, Head of the Supervisory Board of the Ukraine 3000 International Charitable Foundation Kateryna Yushchenko took part in a presentation of books by academic and teaching staff members of the Banking University at the National Bank of Ukraine.
The event took place at the BU NBU premises. Also present were the Banking University President Tamara Smovzhenko, Vice President for Research and Organization at the BU NBU Anzhela Kuznietsova, Head of the Board of Directors of Ukraine 3000 Foundation Oleksandr Maksymchuk, Director of the Znannia Publishers Volodymyr Karasiov, Senior Editor with the Promin Creative and Production Association at the National Radio Company of Ukraine Vita Dolenko, professors of the Banking University in Kyiv, Lviv, and Kharkiv.
The participants of the presentation familiarized themselves with new series of scientific-methodological projects for self-instruction in economic and humanitarian disciplines, for the Accounting. Analysis, and Audit Chair; research monographs, Visnyk UBS journal, and macroeconomics textbook. Some of these publications were presented by UB NBU faculty.
“The Banking University at the National Bank of Ukraine’s syllabus has long ceased to be purely finance- or banking-related,” Mrs. Kateryna Yushchenko said, addressing the audience. “Its area of interest encompasses all problems of the Ukrainian society. Several years ago we, together with the University, initiated the compilation of Ukraine’s first Corporative Social Responsibility textbook, published in 2009.”
“We hope that this textbook and instruction course will eventually become an integral part of any banking or financial education,” Mrs. Yushchenko emphasized.
Recall that the idea to create the Corporative Social Responsibility textbook first emerged in 2007, in course of Mrs. Yushchenko’s visit to UB NBU. The textbook was compiled by leading research fellows of the Banking University at the National Bank of Ukraine. It not only explains the idea of CSR but also points out concrete actions aimed at its instilling upon people and forming a correct attitude toward money, the society, business, colleagues, and client’s trust for banks, bankers, and money. In September 2009 the textbook was presented at the 16th Publishers’ Forum in Lviv.
