Dear Friends,
01 June 2009 15:01
Today, June 1, we celebrate the International Children’s Day. This day is not only a happy holiday for the kids, but also a reminder to the society about the necessity to observe children’s rights.
Every nation’s future is in its children. The future of our country and our nation also depends on what our children will be when they grow up. Thus, we have to do everything possible to raise them as harmonious, well-rounded persons.
This cannot be achieved without providing decent education and medical service to children, promoting their involvement into cultural and creative life, securing their leisure and entertainment, and protecting them from physical and psychological violence. All this is registered in the UN Children’s Rights Charter Ukraine signed in 1991.
The Ukraine 3000 International Charitable Foundation views helping children as its major priority. We support children’s art competitions and festivals, we work actively upon involving children into social life, find and encourage gifted young people.
The Foundation’s major effort is focused on health protection for mothers and children. Due to a systemic approach to solving urgent issues of children’s medicine we hope to nurse back to health as many Ukrainian children as possible. Our Hospital to Hospital and Joy of the Childhood – Free Movements programs work in all Ukraine’s oblasts. We pay great attention to children with limited abilities. Giving these children a no-barrier access to medicine, education, and cultural heritage is one of the Foundation’s main goals, and it has to become a priority for the whole Ukrainian community.
However, our biggest project is creating a global level children’s patient care facility in Ukraine, where seriously ill children would get medical aid, - the All-Ukrainian Center to Protect Mothers’ and Children’s Health, a.k.a. Children’s Hospital of the Future.
We are grateful to our partners and philanthropists, who share our care for Ukrainian children’s future and, in spite of the present hard situation, help them become healthier, more educated, and better people. We are happy to see that their number is growing.
There will be many celebrations today at children’s camps, nursery schools, hospitals, and orphanages. So we greet all children and bid them sound health, easy learning, and successful future. And the adults should remember that children need our help and protection every day, not just once a year.
Sincerely, Members of the Ukraine 3000 International Charitable Foundation
