
Kateryna Yushchenko Meets with Members of Ukrainian Community in Canada

November 27, 2008, Head of the Supervisory Board of the Ukraine 3000 International Charitable Foundation Kateryna Yushchenko met in Toronto with members of Ukrainian community in Canada and Ontario Province.
Among the participants of the meeting were representatives of the Ukrainian Canadian Congress, Canadian League of Ukrainians and many other diaspora organizations along with Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Ukraine in Canada Ihor Ostash, General Consul of Ukraine in Toronto Oleksandr Danyleyko, and Ukraine 3000 Foundation members.
Mrs. Yushchenko thanked members of Ukrainian community in Canada and Ontario Province for their active participation in organizing the commemoration of the 75th anniversary of the Manmade Famine of 1932-1933 in Ukraine. She called upon diaspora organizations to continue this work, passing to Ukraine publications, films, witness accounts, and archive documents, related to Holodomor, published in Canada.
The participants of the meeting also discussed the cooperation between Ukraine and Canada in the sphere of culture. Additionally, Mrs. Kateryna told the audience about the Ukraine 3000 Foundation’s work, in part, in the medicine and education areas.
Mrs. Kateryna Yushchenko and Ukraine 3000 Foundation representatives are staying in Canada for a working visit, their major mission being the unveiling of the Mysteries of Ancient Ukraine: The Remarkable Trypilian Culture exhibit at the Royal Ontario Museum.
