
Ukraine 3000 Foundation Members Attend Holodomor Victims Commemoration in New York

November 23, 2008, Head of the Board of Directors of the Ukraine 3000 International Charitable Foundation Oleksandr Maksymchuk and Head of the Development Programs Andriy Kotsiuba took part in the memorial service for the victims of the Manmade Famine of 1932-1933 in Ukraine at St. Volodymyr’s Cathedral in New York.
The Ukraine 3000 Foundation members, workers of Ukraine’s Permanent Mission at the UN, General Consulate in New York, and Ukrainian community lit candles of sorrow for the millions of victims of this horrible crime of Stalin regime.
Permanent Representative of Ukraine at the United Nations Organization, Ambassador Yuri Serheyev, read out President Viktor Yushchenko’s address to the Ukrainian diaspora and global community.
The participants of the commemoration also watched the Famine ’33 film by Oles’ Yanchuk.
Next day, November 24, Messrs. Maksymchuk and Kotsiuba attended the Executed by Hunger: the Unknown Genocide against the Ukrainians exhibition, prepared by Ukraine 3000 Foundation, at the UN HQ in New York.
