Kateryna Yushchenjko Meets with Ulana Mazurkevich and Prof. Daniel Hryhorczuk

November 24, Head of the Supervisory Board of the Ukraine 3000 International Charitable Foundation Kateryna Yushchenko met with President of the Ukrainian Human Rights Committee, a member organization of the Ukrainian Congress Committee of America and head of the Philadelphia Holodomor Committee Ulana Mazurkevich and Director of Great Lakes Centers University of Illinois at Chicago School of Public Health Daniel Hryhorczuk. Also present at the meeting, hosted by the Ukraine 3000 Foundation, were Minisrer for Health Care of Ukraine Vasyl Kniazevych, Director of the Institute for Pediatrics, Obstetrics, and Gynecology of the Academy of Medical Sciences of Ukraine Yuri Antypkin, and Director of the Ukraine 3000 Foundation Medical Programs Dept. Vira Pavliuk.
In course of the meeting, Ms. Mazurkevich spoke about events prepared by the Philadelphia community for commemorating the 75th anniversary of Holodomor in Ukraine. Ms. Ulana also described the UCCA activities on Holodomor research in Ukraine, in which she took part.
The participants of the meeting also discussed cooperation between University of Illinois at Chicago and the Institute for Pediatrics, Obstetrics, and Gynecology which has been established over 15 years ago. Within its framework, joint research programs are carried out, in part, broad-scale epidemiologic research in Ukraine, aimed at studying the parenthood epidemiology and children’s health, as well as training programs for Ukrainian doctors in Chicago.
