
Kateryna Yushchenko Meets with Director General of the Beethoven Festival Elzbieta Penderecka

November 7, 2008, Head of the Supervisory Board of the Ukraine 3000 International Charitable Foundation Kateryna Yushchenko met in Warsaw with Director General of the International Beethoven Festival Elżbieta Penderecka. Also present were wife of the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Ukraine to Poland Natalia Terletska and director of the Polish Radio Orchestra in Katowice, former Poland’s minister of culture Joanna Wnuk-Nazarowa.
Elżbieta Penderecka is the wife of Krzysztof Penderecki, European classical musician, renowned throughout the world as president of the Polish Beethoven Association and organizer of many national and international festivals.
The participants of the meeting discussed the cooperation between Ukraine and Poland in the area of culture.
Mrs. Kateryna Yushchenko and Ukraine 3000 Foundation members are staying in Warsaw for a working visit for opening the Days of Ukrainian Cinema in Poland.
November 6, Mrs. Kateryna visited the unveiling of the Holodomor of 1932-1933 in Ukraine documents exhibition, attended a reception dedicated to the University of Warsaw Ukrainian Studies Chair’s international scholarly conference, and met with film director Andrzej Wajda.
November 7, Mrs. Yushchenko visited the Museum of the Warsaw Uprising of 1944 and met with wife of the President of Poland Maria Kaczynska.
