Ukraine 3000 Foundation Representatives Visit Otchy Dim Charitable Fund’s Social Care Center

November 4, 2008, members of the Ukraine 3000 International Charitable Foundation Head of the Board of Directors Oleksandr Maksymchuk, Financial Director Rostyslav Zamlynsky, and Expert with the Development Dept. Oleksiy Kamianhcuk visited the Otchy Dim [Father’s House] Charitable Fund’s Social Care Center.
Accompanied by Otchy Dim President Roman Korniyko, the guests toured the remodeled premises and the Center’s grounds, familiarizing themselves with the course of the finishing works. At present, they works have been completed at the Rehabilitation Wing, with the playground, gym, assembly hall, and the yard are still in progress.
On behalf of Ukraine 3000 Foundation, Mr. Maksymchuk greeted the Otchy Dim staff on the occasion of the Social Worker’s Day and presented to the Center’s wards children’s books.
Recall that an informational charitable action was held in Germany in 2005, Education for Children in Need. Over € 630,000 had been raised for Ukraine’s children’s institutions. In February 2006, Ute-Henriette Ohoven, UNESCO Special Ambassador for the Children in Need, passed a certificate for this money to Head of the Supervisory Board of the Ukraine 3000 International Charitable Foundation Kateryna Yushchenko for the Ukraine 3000 Foundation, who manages the raised funds. The money was distributed between the Cancer Institute at the Academy of Medical Sciences of Ukraine, Burn Center at the Kyiv City Clinical Hospital No.2, and Otchy Dim Center. The Cancer Institute received a modern tomographic scanner, the Burn Center – a set of equipment, and Otchy Dim – UAH 923,440 for remodeling and equipping its premises and grounds.
