15 July 2008 17:46

July 14, 2008, Head of the Board of Directors of the Ukraine 3000 International Charitable Foundation Oleksandr Maksymchuk took part in a press conference presenting the audio project by expert in the fashion business Oksana Novytska, Let’s Hear!

The event presented the project’s first part, The Crown of the Fashion Empire audio book on the four world’s most famous fashion designers. The book is meant for those interested in the history of fashion or art in general, but having no spare time for reading, as well as for the blind people.

Presenting her project, Ms. Novytska said that in creating it she had been inspired by Yuri Bilak’s tactile photo exhibition, Touch and See, organized with the support of the Open Ukraine Fund and Ukraine 3000 International Charitable Foundation.

The Let’s Listen! Audio project is aimed at expanding the abilities of the blind people and people with impaired sight, forming and developing young people’s interest to the global and national literary heritage and Ukraine’s history, forming the need for efficient use of time in the conditions of an industrial metropolis. In addition to The Crown of the Fashion Empire, the project envisages releasing a short stories series On Things Male and Female, along with the History of Ukraine, Classics for the Living, and Folktales of the World series.

The Ukraine 3000 International Charitable Foundation pays great attention to the needs of the people with limited capacities, implementing programs and projects to support these people. Together with TNK-BP Commerce Company, the Foundation is carrying out the Joy of the Childhood: Free Movements program, and together with Procter & Gamble – donates modern equipment to children’s hospitals to render timely assistance to children with impaired hearing. Also, the Foundation carried out a series of actions donating equipment for people with impaired hearing, supported the Special Olympics movement for mentally handicapped people, and co-organized Yuri Bilak’s photo exhibition, Touch and See.
