Kateryna Yushchenko Meets with Chicago Mayor Richard Daley

June 30, 2008, Head of the Supervisory Board of the Ukraine 3000 International Charitable Foundation Kateryna Yushchenko met with Chicago Mayor Richard Daley. Mayor’s wife Maggie Daley also participated in the meeting, held on the City Council premises.
In course of the meeting, Mrs. Kateryna gave Mr. Daley a brief overview of the Ukraine 3000 Foundation’s work, in part, its medical, educational, and cultural programs and projects.
Mayor Daley described special programs for children and teenagers initiated by the City Council, in part, the After School program offering various cultural and artistic activities for children. The parties also discussed developing cooperation between Chicago and Kyiv as part of the sister cities program. Mayor Daley also spoke about the progress in preparing the city for 2016 Olympics, since Chicago is one of the major bidders. In her turn, Mrs. Kateryna told the mayor about Ukraine’s preparations for Euro 2012.
Kateryna Yushchenko is staying in Chicago on a brief working visit. Earlier she has visited the Chicago Lighthouse Agency for the people who are blind or visually impaired, and taken part in a business lunch with wife of the Mayor of Chicago Maggie Daley.
