
Kateryna Yushchenko Visits Lviv the Holy Spirit Theological Seminary

June 14, 2008, representatives of the Ukraine 3000 International Charitable Foundation, headed by Head of the Supervisory Board of the Ukraine 3000 International Charitable Foundation Kateryna Yushchenko, visited the Lviv the Holy Spirit Theological Seminary. Among other participants of the event were Minister of Healthcare of Ukraine Vasyl Kniazevych, acting head of the Lviv Oblast State Administration Mykola Kmit, representatives of the local authorities, religious organizations, and Ukraine 3000 Foundation.
Supervised by rector of the Lviv the Holy Spirit Ecclesiastical Seminary, Rev. Dr. Sviatoslav Shevchuk, Mrs. Kateryna took a tour of the institution. She attended the Seminary Church and laid flowers to the icon of the Ukrainian martyrs of the twentieth century.
Mrs. Kateryna greeted the participants of the Song of Heart Patriarch’s Competition of Contemporary Spiritual Song, dedicated to the Year of Christian Convocation and the 1020th anniversary of the Baptizing of Rus’-Ukraine. The competition was held for the fourth time. Its participants are children aged 7-18, who are to give a grand concert June 19, 2008, at the Lviv Opera Theater. A concert in Kyiv is scheduled for October 18-19, 2008.
Mrs. Yushchenko also visited the exhibition of icons by Rev. Zenon Charkawy (Australia), donated by the author to the Holy Spirit Seminary, and talked to Father Zenon.
Later Mrs. Kateryna took part in a dinner with local authorities’ representatives, organizers of the Ecumenical Social Week, and seminary students.
Mrs. Yushchenko and Ukraine 3000 Foundation representatives are staying in Lviv with a working visit, taking part in the Ecumenical Social Week. June 13, Mrs. Kateryna delivered a speech at the Ukrainian Cooporative Movement Academic Conference plenary session. June 14, she met with president of the Semaines Sociales de France Michel Camdessus.
Also, members of the Foundation visited the Dzherelo Education and Rehabilitation Center and passed over medicines for disseminated sclerosis prevention to the Association of the Disabled Persons with Disseminated Sclerosis.
