
Kateryna Yushchenko Meets with Michel Camdessus

June 14, 2008, Head of the Supervisory Board of the Ukraine 3000 International Charitable Foundation Kateryna Yushchenko held a meeting in Lviv with president of the Semaines Sociales de France, former Managing Director of the International Monetary Fund Michel Camdessus. Brigitte Camdessus, rector of the Ukrainian Catholic University Rev. Borys Hudziak, director of the Ecumenical Studies Institute at the UCU Antoine Ardzhakovsky, and Head of the Board of Directors of the Ukraine 3000 Foundation Oleksandr Maksymchuk also took part in the meeting.
In course of the conversation, Mrs. Yushchenko and Mr. Camdessus exchanged opinions on the events of the Ecumenical Social Week, which is being held these days in Lviv. Mr. Camdessus thanked Mrs. Kateryna for granting her support to the Ecumenical week. He expressed his hope that the idea of Social weeks would find wide support in Ukraine. Also, Mr. Camdessus shared his experience in conducting such events in France.
Michel Camdessus is renowned French financier, former Managing Director of the International Monetary Fund (1987-1999). Recently, Mr. Camdessus has been actively participating in social activities. He is President of the Jacques Chirac Foundation for Intercultural Dialog, president of the Social Weeks of France, and member of the pontifical Commission for Justice and Peace.
Mrs. Yushchenko and Ukraine 3000 Foundation representatives are staying in Lviv with a working visit, taking part in the Ecumenical Social Week. June 13, Mrs. Kateryna delivered a speech at the Ukrainian Cooporative Movement Academic Conference plenary session.
