
Mrs. Kateryna Yushchenko meets with President of the Landtag Nordrhein-Westfalen Regina van Dinther

June 12, 2008, Head of the Supervisory Board of the Ukraine 3000 International Charitable Foundation Kateryna Yushchenko had a meeting with President of the Landtag Nordrhein-Westfalen Regina van Dinther. Among other participants in the event were Landtag deputy Werner Jostmeier, people’s deputy of Ukraine and head of the VR Committee on European Integration Borys Tarasiuk, and Head of the Board of Directors of the Ukraine 3000 Foundation Oleksandr Maksymchuk.
Mrs. Yushchenko told Mrs. van Dinther about the major goal of the Ukrainian delegation’s visit to Nordrhein-Westfalen, presenting in Düsseldorf the Executed by Hunger: the Unknown Genocide of the Ukrainians exhibition, prepared by the Ukraine 3000 International Charitable Foundation. Mrs. Kateryna thanked Ms. Regina for her help in organizing this event.
Mrs. Yushchenko also described the Ukraine 3000 Foundation’s programs and projects, speaking in more detail about the creation of the All-Ukrainian Center to Protect Mothers’ and Children’s Health, a.k.a. the Children’s Hospital of the Future.
Landtag is the superior legislative body of the federal land of Nordrhein-Westfalen. It was founded October 2, 1946. The Landtag is elected on the basis of proportional elections, where the majority of votes is a decisive factor. The parliament has 181 deputies. Since 2995 it has been headed by Regina van Dinther (CDU).
Mrs. Kateryna Yushchenko and Ukraine 3000 International Charitable Foundation representatives are staying in Germany for a two-days working visit, in course of which they are to visit Düsseldorf and Köln. Earlier they met with representatives of German business circles at the reception by Land Counselor on Economy and Social Policy of the State of Nordrhein-Westfalen, Rhineland region, Werner Stump.
