
Kateryna Yushchenko Attends the Fourth Declaration of Love Show Concert

March 7, 2008, Head of the Supervisory Board of the Ukraine 3000 International Charitable Foundation Kateryna Yushchenko and the Foundation representatives attended the Fourth Declaration of Love Show Concert at the National Opera of Ukraine. This was the second time that the Ukraine 3000 Foundation sponsored this event, this year scheduled for March 6-7. The author of the project and chief conductor was conductor with the National Opera of Ukraine, Merited Artiste of Ukraine Herman Makarenko.
The Foundation presented in the National Opera lobby the Mother, Child, Family exhibition of works by contemporary Ukrainian artists: Vira Barynova-Kuleba, Mariya Pryjmachenko, Nina Marchenko, Serhiy Ivanov, Hryhory Sokil.
Mrs. Yushchenko greeted all art lovers who came to the Opera that night. She presented the art show prepared by the Fund and thanked the organizers for the wonderful concert. “Thank you for coming. The joy of being with those sharing our values and dreams is the best present we can imagine,” she said.
Mrs. Kateryna greeted all women on the occasion of March 8 and said that the Ukraine 3000 Foundation’s work is aimed primarily at helping women, since 80% of workers in the areas supported by the Foundation are women. “I’m grateful to all of you, whose talents and tireless work in all spheres brings glory to our country,” she said.
The Declaration of Love Show Concert included most popular and striking fragments from classical operas and ballets. The concert featured ballet stars Olena Filipyeva, Olha Holytsia, Maksym Motkov, Vadym Burtan, Ihor Bulychov, opera singers Susanna Chakhoyan, Svitlana Hodlevska, Volodymyr Openko, Bohdan Taras, and Dmytro Kuzmin, along with National Opera’s Symphony Orchestra conducted by Herman Makarenko.
The first Declaration of Love Show Concert showed various ways in which men in Italy, Spain, Russia and Ukraine declare their love through musical and theatrical means. The theme of the second concert was the faces of love: happy, tender, dramatic, and comical. The third concert showed love declarations by emperor and soldier, prince and commoner.
