
Kateryna Yushchenko Meets with Georgetown University President John DeGioia

February 19, 2008, Head of the Supervisory Board of the Ukraine 3000 International Charitable Fund Kateryna Yushchenko met with Georgetown University President Dr. John DeGioia. Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Ukraine to the United States Oleh Shamshur also took part in the meeting.
In course of the meeting, Mrs. Yushchenko and Mr. DeGioia discussed Georgetown University’s cooperation with Ukrainian educational institutions and the possibilities for enlivening student exchange programs between the two countries. Besides, Mrs. Yushchenko descrived the Ukraine 3000 Fund’s educational programs and projects.
Georgetown University is one of the US oldest Catholic universities founded in the late 18th century. Today, it’s an eminent private school situated in Washington downtown. Mrs. Kateryna Yushchenko graduated from Georgetown University in 1982.
Mrs. Yushchenko and Ukraine 3000 Fund representatives are staying in the United States for a working visit. Earlier they met with President and CEO of the National Association of Children’s Hospitals and Related Institutions Lawrence McAndrews and US Secretary of Health and Human Services Michael Leavitt. Mrs. Yushchenko also attended the memorial service for Lev Dobriansky.
