
Kateryna Yushchenko Visits Renowned Ukrainian Artist Vira Barynova-Kuleba at Her Studio

January 30, 2008, Head of the Supervisory Board of the Ukraine 3000 International Charitable Fund Kateryna Yushchenko visited renowned ukrainian artist Vira Barynova-Kuleba at her studio, accompanied by Head of the Ukraine 3000 Fund’s Board of Directors Oleksandr Maksymchuk and experts with the Cultural Programs Dept. Vladyslav Pioro and Olesia Stasiuk.
Mrs. Yushchenko took a tour of the studio and talked to the artist. Ms. Barynova-Kuleba presented to Mrs. Yushchenko her creative works, whose major topics are her native country, woman and mother, work, rustic life, nature, love for Ukraine, the history of the Ukrainians, expressed through various artistic techniques and methods.
As a keepsake about this visit, Ms. Barynova-Kuleba gave Mrs. Yushchenko a number of her paintings. Mrs. Kateryna gave her a series of the National Arts Museum of Ukraine’s albums as a return present.
Corresponding Member of Ukraine’s Arts Academy, merited artist, member of the Artists’ Union, professor with the National Academy of the Arts and Architecture, Vira Barynova-Kuleba graduated from the Kharkiv Art School, Kyiv State Institute of the Arts, went through training at the creative workshops of the USSR Arts Academy and in Berlin, Germany/ Her works were presented at numerous collective and one-woman shows in Ukraine, Russia, the US, China, and Switzerland, and are preserved in museum and private collections in many countries.
