
Mrs. Kateryna Yushchenko Meets in Davos with Koichiro Matsuura

January 24, 2008, Head of the Supervisory Board of the Ukraine 3000 International Charitable Fund Kateryna Yushchenko met in Davos with Director-General of UNESCO Koichiro Matsuura.
In course of their meeting they discussed the cooperation between Ukraine 3000 Fund and UNESCO on the Fund’s educational programs and projects. Mrs. Yushchenko described, in part, the International Educational Summit to be held in fall 2008 by Ukraine 3000 Fund and its partners. Mr. Matsuura, in his turn, said that UNESCO would take part in organizing and carrying out this event, suggesting a number of major topics for discussion at the Summit.
Mr. Matsuura also spoke about major initiatives in the area of education, partnered by UNESCO, which are scheduled for 2008.
The Ukraine 3000 International Charitable Fund and UNESCO share a long experience of cooperation. In part, in 2005 funds raised by UNESCO where spent with the mediation of Ukraine 3000 Fund to cover the needs of Ukrainian children’s medical and educational institutions. Mr. Matsuuro took part in the First Human Rebirth, Revival, and Development International Humanitarian Forum in late April 2006. Besides, in the last years Mrs. Yushchenko and Mr. Matsuuro have held a series of meetings discussing the cooperation between Ukraine 3000 Fund and UNESCO in the areas of medicine, culture, and education.
Mrs. Kateryna Yushchenko is taking part in the events of the World Economic Forum in Davos. Earlier she took part in a roundtable dedicated to philanthropy.
