December 18, 2007, members of the Ukraine 3000 International Charitable Fund and Slavic Foundation met at the Ukraine 3000 premises. Among the participants of the meeting were Head of the Ukraine 3000 Fund’s Board of Directors and Honorary Head of the Slavic Foundation Kateryna Rogach (the US).
The parties signed a trilateral Memorandum on Cooperation between the Ukraine 3000 Fund, Slavic Foundation, and EurAsia Heart Foundation (Switzerland). The document, in part, provides for organizing a treatment course in Switzerland of a group of Ukrainian children with heart disorders.
The parties also discussed the future cooperation between their charitable organizations.
The EurAsia Heart Foundation, organized by a group of Zurich-based cardio surgeons headed by Dr. Paul Vogt, has been cooperating with the OKHMATDIT Lviv Oblast Children’s Clinical Hospital for a few years. Within the framework of this cooperation, Swiss professionals share their experience with Ukrainian colleagues, giving their counsel, and taking part in surgeries on patients with serious cardio pathologies.
In November 2007, the EurAsia Heart Fund initiated performing surgeries on the OKHMATDIT Lviv Oblast Children’s Clinical Hospital in Zurich. The Ukraine 3000 Fund and Slavic Foundation joined the initiative. Eight Ukrainian children are planned to go to Switzerland to receive treatment in early 2008.
