
Winners Announced in the Philanthropist 2007 National Contest

December 13, 2007, representatives of the Ukraine 3000 International Charitable Fund took part in the press conference announcing the results of the Philanthropist 2007 National Contest. Among the participants of the event hosted by the Inter-media Informational Agency were Advisor to the Head of the Supervisory Board of the Ukraine 3000 International Charitable Fund Andriy Myroshnichenko, Head of the Organizing Committee of the Contest Serhiy Letenko (the Children’s World All-Ukrainian Charitable Foundation), Head of the Contest’s Panel, President of the Philanthropy Center Svitlana Kuts, and Director of the Ukrainian Grant Givers Forum Hanna Hulevska-Chernysh.
The participants of the press conference announced that over 80 philanthropists from all Ukraine’s oblasts had applied for the competition, including 6 transnational corporations, 16 national companies, 4 banks and other financial institutions, 35 charitable foundations, and 19 private persons. The panel selected winners in every oblast and biggest philanthropists on the national level.
The national winners are:
- Avon Cosmetics Ukraine daughter enterprise (Philanthropist of the Year – Transnational Corporation nomination);
- Foxtrot Group (Philanthropist of the Year – National Business Structure nomination);
- Poltava – Mutual Help Credit Union (Philanthropist of the Year – Bank or Financial Institution nomination);
- Oleksandr Feldman International Charitable Fund (Philanthropist of the Year – Charitable Fund nomination);
- Mr. Omelian Antonovych (Philanthropist of the Year – Private Person nomination).
According to the organizers, the positive practice of social responsibility should find support in our society. The Philanthropist of the Year contest was founded for public celebration of the Ukrainian business figures for their charitable work aimed at solving urgent social problems and promoting philanthropy in Ukraine.
The awards ceremony is scheduled for December 13. Head of the Supervisory Board of the Ukraine 3000 International Charitable Fund Kateryna Yushchenko will take part in the event.
