Kateryna Yushchenko Meets with Sheng Changli, Vice Governor of Zhejiang Province, China

October 4, 2007, Head of the Supervisory Board of the Ukraine 3000 International Charitable Fund Kateryna Yushchenko met with Sheng Changli, Vice Governor of Zhejiang province. The meeting took place in Hangchow, capital of Zhejiang province, at a reception given by the Vice Governor for Mrs. Kateryna.
At the meeting the parties discussed developing the cooperation between Ukraine and Zhejiang province. Mrs. Yushchenko thanked the Chinese party for their hospitality and expressed her hope that this cooperation would continue and develop in all areas: culture, education, science, etc.
Among other participants in the meeting were President of the Special Olympics Serhiy Komisarenko, Zhejiang province authorities, representatives of the Ukrainian embassy and consulate in China, and the Ukraine 3000 Fund.
Zhejiang province is one of the China’s smallest. Its population is under 50 million people. The province is China’s fourth in terms of economical development and third in terms of living standards.
Mrs. Yushchenko and Ukraine 3000 Fund representatives are staying in China to support the athletes of the Ukrainian national team at the Special Olympics 2007, to be held October 2-11 in Shanghai. A series of events with the participation of Mrs. Yushchenko is on the agenda of the trip, in part, unveiling the Ukrainian Language Chair at the Shanghai University.
October 2, 2007, Mrs. Yushchenko met with President of the People's Republic of China Hu Jintao, Head of the China Disabled Persons Federation Den Pufan, and took part in the Special Olympics opening ceremony.
October 3, Mrs. Yushchenko and Ukraine 3000 Fund representatives took part in the the Global Policy Summit on the Well-being of People with Intellectual Disabilities and visited Ukrainian artist Kateryna Hutnikova-Mykhaylova’s one-woman show.
